AMBRA Teaching Method
AMBRA education takes place in the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE-AMBRA). The College provides to students and professors many technological tools varying from simple forums to complete on-line interactive class environments.
All classes and activities in AMBRA occur at the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE-AMBRA). Students, Faculty, Advisers and all the multidisciplinary team uses the VLE in the teaching-learning process. The course starts with a courseware published in the VLE-AMBRA, as a written class. The student should also participate of classes given by the Professors via web conferences on real time, or watch them after recorded and published on VLE-AMBRA. After all this process of learning the students must participate of some assessment activities: lessons, tasks, argumentative forum, questionnaires and tests (on-line or orally via web-conference). Each course has appropriate location on VLE-AMBRA for questions about all the content and, moreover, all the students have access to on-line libraries.

Introduction
At this moment we describe the method used by AMBRA, explaining the reason and operation of each of its phase, using some examples extracted from the Foreign Legal Studies program. The method uses some asynchronous and synchronous collaboration tools to provide student total absorption of the content.
Reading the written content
Each course stars with the publication of a the written content on the Virtual Learning Environment of AMBRA (VLE-AMBRA).
-
The professor prepares all the content and submit it to the editorial staff.
-
The content must be shaped and harmonized. After that, the Professor review all the content and approves it, then the staff publishes the written content in the VLE.
-
The content is available on AVA-AMBRA to students.
-
Students can print the written content if desired.
Participating on doubts forum
This tool serves to clarify all doubts regarding the published written content.
-
Students can publish all his doubts on the Doubts Forum after reading the written content.
-
Professors then interact with students answering all their published questions.
Participating on argumentative forums
This tool is used to improve students argumentative skill on topics proposed by professors.
-
Professors publish topics of discussion regarding a course.
-
Each student starts answering the topic using his/her own arguments on the published topic.
-
Then, it is initiated a discussion with professors and students. Professors act as tutors, guiding students to the correct and best answer.
-
The dialog is restricted to published answers regarding the topic chosen by the Professor.
-
This asynchronous tool improves the argumentative skill of students and stimulates total absorption of the course content.
Participating on lessons
This tool serves to stimulate absorption of the course content by the student.
-
Professors divide the content in lessons.
-
Professors elaborate questions about each lesson.
-
Students have access to professor's comments about any chosen answer.
-
In case of a correct answer the student can pass to a new lesson, if it is a wrong answer the student must back to the previous lesson.
-
The innovation is that professors must comment both right and wrong answers.
-
This tool satisfactory unifies content, questionnaires and professors' comments.
Participating on tasks
This tool serves to the establishment of specific tasks with specific deadlines.
-
Professors publish tasks addressing the course content.
-
Tasks must be accomplished by the student by the stated deadline.
On-line Library research
Following the best established standards for distance education, this tool allows students to do bibliographic research. Professors indicate several books and contents on the Internet and students can have exclusive access to 6,000 (six thousand) pages of books on-line during the term.
-
Student can do bibliographic research directly at publishers (virtual library).
-
Access to the virtual library is directly integrated into the VLE.
Attending on-line classes on Internet via web-conferences
With this tool it is possible to attend to on-line classes in real time with an effective iteration between professors and students. All classes are recorded and published in the VLE-AMBRA. Contact AMBRA and check if it is possible to attend some of its extracurricular classes in real time.
-
The student can attend on-line classes that are previously scheduled.
-
At least three on-line classes are offered per week.
-
Student can interact with professors asking questions in real time.
- Watch a stretch of an on-line class with professor Pedro Buck Alevino
- Watch a stretch of an on-line class with professor Camila Campos Jacobs
Extracurricular classes
AMBRA offers extracurricular activities to its students as complementary training. These activities are generally developed by professors or professionals invited by AMBRA.
